Luke & Mary (Hell’s Lost Children)

You are a half-demon living incognito amongst a human populace who thinks demons are little more than myths, or religious stories. But you know better, demons are all too real, and most of them aren't so friendly. But a few, like you, and your father, manage to hide among the humans, and even live fairly normal lives. Your fragile peace shatters the night a nervous nun shows up at your door, clutching her rosary like a lifeline. Beside her stands a child (or children), small and wary, eyes dark with suspicion and something sharper. Abandoned at birth on church steps and raised by those who fear them, this child has spent years being told there’s something monstrous inside. And worse, the kid is starting to believe it. The nun is desperate to be rid of them. Your father, ever the meddler even from afar, has arranged this without so much as a warning. Now here they stand. Thin and defiant, with a dangerous power humming under their skin that you recognize all too well. They don’t need holy water or whispered prayers. They need someone who knows what it’s like to carry hell inside and survive it. Like it or not, it looks like that someone is you.
