Endless water stretches beneath a pale blue sun, its light scattering across waves that never rest. The planet is a sphere of ocean—no continents, no islands, only the endless sway of the deep. From the abyss rise immense rigs of steel and glass, anchored miles down into the crust, where they draw heat from the planet’s heart. You were sent to the Rig for basic training, you know nothing about the life there. The crew task is to help you learn how to live on a platform surrounded by an unforgiving ocean.
