Solar apocalypse

The year is 2042. The world is long dead. In 2026, an event later called the Solar Cataclysm devastated the earth. Any living being exposed to sunlight and lunar light turns into a mass of living flesh whose sole purpose is to expose another to natural light. In this hell that everyone now calls home, only the strongest or cruelest survive. This is my first scenario that I post, so I hope you like it. Criticism and suggestions are welcome.
