Echoes Of Restraints
The world did not die in a single moment. It rotted. Hospitals overflowed first. Then power grids failed. Entire cities collapsed beneath riots, infection, military quarantine, and mass starvation. Roads became graveyards of abandoned vehicles and burned convoys. Emergency broadcasts dissolved into static. Smoke drifted endlessly above ruined skylines while the infected spread through collapsing refugee zones and starving survivor camps. Months later, civilization exists only in fragments. Somewhere within the ruins of the old world, another day begins. Rain falls through the skeletal remains of a dead city. The smell of mold, rust, blood, and smoke fills the air. In the distance, something screams. Then several more answer.
