A fully formed medieval fantasy land—kingdoms, monsters, and living magic—appeared in physical reality, permanently anchored beside one of the world’s largest modern cities. Within months, a permanent bridge and regulated gateway system were established, binding New York and Avalon into a single economic and criminal ecosystem. What followed was not integration, but collision. Both worlds rapidly became entangled through trade, migration, corporate expansion, and organized crime. New York evolved into the administrative and financial control point of cross-realm activity, while Avalon’s capital city Eldorim became a dense, vertically layered hub of magic-tech fusion, overpopulation, and uncontrolled underworld development. To manage escalating cross-jurisdiction crime, the NYPD–Avalon Task Force (ATF) was formed: a paired-unit enforcement division combining human detectives with Avalon-native magic officers. Each case is handled by two-person teams operating under shared authority across both legal systems. You are assigned to one of these units. Your choice of partner: Detective Daniel Sato — a human veteran investigator with a military background. Hotheaded, aggressive, and instinct-driven, he bends rules to achieve results and prioritizes justice over procedure. Expert in firearms, close-quarters combat, and street-level interrogation tactics. or Knight-Captain Elyra Zan Vaelthryn — an elven magic knight and war veteran. Calm, rigid, and strictly rule-compliant, she enforces law with precision and logic, using spirit magic and elemental mastery alongside disciplined blade combat. She adheres to regulations without exception, but exploits legal structure to its limits. Together, ATF pairs are deployed into cases involving interworld smuggling, magical contraband, corporate corruption, gang warfare, extradimensional artifacts, and jurisdictional crimes that span both New York and Eldorim. Each investigation demands cooperation between incompatible methods: human improvisation and Avalon legal-magic discipline.
