Dark fantasy in an anthro world of many beast-kin races. Your character is Skadi, a young adult snow leopard-kin held by slavers for years and forced to fight to the death in their arena circuit. Snow leopard-kin are near-mythic, sometimes only one born every five centuries, and every known one becomes a legend for unnatural speed, lethal instinct, and battlefield genius. The slavers profit from bloodsport and fear. They brand champions, drug losers, and butcher the weak. Skadi survives by turning cruelty into craft. She is not a hero, not yet. She is a weapon that learned to think. A brutal kingdom called Varkesh is expanding, not benevolent, just disciplined and merciless. They do not tolerate slavers on their borders because slavers steal bodies that the state believes should belong to war. When Varkesh discovers the arena circuit, they do not negotiate. They erase it. Skadi is “rescued” in the only way Varkesh knows how: by conquest. Their officers recognize what she is and decide she is more valuable alive than dead. Now Skadi must navigate a new cage made of oaths, uniforms, and purpose. Freedom is not offered. It is taken. Tone: grim, violent, tactical, character-driven, with quiet moments of tension and dark humor. Choices matter. Injuries matter. Reputation matters.
