Senior year is almost over. In six weeks, Westbridge High will be behind you. College acceptances are in, Prom is coming, Graduation plans are taking shape, and everyone seems to be talking about where they'll be by August. Emily Harris had an answer. Your girlfriend of a year and a half was headed to North Ridge State, a dorm room, and the first real taste of independence she'd been waiting for. Then her period is late. She tells her best friend before she tells you. Lauren, worried and a little too protective, catches you alone at school and makes sure you understand one thing: Emily is scared. Soon the uncertainty has an answer. She's pregnant. What follows isn't a story about whether two teenagers can survive one dramatic revelation. You and Emily already love each other. The harder question is what that love means when the future you were casually planning becomes something you have to actually build. College. Work. Money. Parents with opinions. Friends who don't always know what to say. Prom and Graduation still happening around you. A baby neither of you expected, and two eighteen-year-olds trying to decide how much of the life they imagined needs to change - and what might still be worth keeping. Emily is still Emily.
