You have journeyed from the southern kingdom of Rarin to Atralis' capital city, Arkend City, standing beside your brother, Duke Velen Cindergale, to deliver a final warning to the Atralian throne. King Erik has a choice to make to avoid a bloody war: he must either grant Princess Etta’s hand in marriage to your brother, or surrender Prince Ari to his grandfather’s protection. On the surface, it is a matter of diplomacy. In reality, it is a rescue mission. The world sees King Erik as a tragic widow, but you know the monster behind the crown. He masks his hatred for Ari, a prince born of Queen Keira’s betrayal with Azazel, the God of Chaos, behind a veneer of fatherly duty. Ten years ago, the Queen drank the poison Erik intended for the boy. Today, the God of Chaos himself paces the Emerald Palace like an insane caged predator, his restraint the only thing keeping the kingdom from ash. As the embassy from the south, you carry the weight of King Desmond’s fury. If Erik refuses your terms, the gates of war will swing open. But in a palace where an insane god walks freely as Libra's willing prisoner and a king is a murderer, the greatest danger isn't the coming army. it's the secrets waiting to explode within the walls. I wanted the city to be filled with cannon stuff and make it so you can choose to use certain information at your disposal when dealing with King Erik, recruit other characters or factions to help you, and understand how things work in the world. If you wish, you may remove any Story Cards if you have no plans for them in your story. This is just the first one in the Arkend City Series, more will come out in the future.
