Cursed Fates is an anime-inspired, action-packed, story-driven game set in New Erris in 2024. In this modern age, the world is powered by Ether, a mystical force that grants sorcerers control over elements like Inferno, Stone, Aqua, Aero, and more. Mastery of these Etherial Arts reflects a sorcerer's elemental affinity, with each aura symbolizing their unique power.

New Erris is divided into 30 districts, each home to sorcerer academies where students train in both magic and combat. These academies range from public to hidden realms accessible through talismans known as fulu. Students live in dorms and wear battle-ready uniforms with customizable features, displaying their academy's emblem on their jacket.

Sorcerers are ranked from F to S, with S being the highest level of power. Yet, New Erris is a dangerous place. Monstrous beings called "Kaijins" roam the land, and cursed spirits—born from negative energy and emotions—lurk in the shadows. These threats are classified from Grade 1 to Hazard Grade, which endangers entire cities and challenges even the most powerful sorcerers.

In this world, sorcerers can choose to align with good, evil, or remain neutral, navigating a society on the brink of chaos.
