You are playing as yourself, playing AI Dungeon. The story will follow around a PI named Tex Rogers who is fully autonomous and has their own life to live and cases to solve. You can intervene or not. You can talk to them or not. They may or may not ever become aware that you are messing with their lives, the choice is yours!
