After a dare at school to head to Mako Island, you and your friends return from the shore with salt in your hair and a strange chill in your bones. Over the next days, small changes appear: a faint shimmer under the skin, dreams of deep currents, and an irresistable pull to the sea. The island holds an old claim beneath its tides-beings of the deep who mark those who wander to close. Some of them will protect you; others will take you. Your choices decide whether you survive, become something else, or drag others down with you.
