Steam & Magic: Tempestara
Tempestara, where magic clashes with steampunk progress in the seas and skies of this tropical archipelago. Airships, their brass and iron hulls cutting through the clouds, while below, the azure seas teem with the ships of daring pirates and bold adventurers. Tempestara is a land of countless islands, each with its own culture, secrets, and dangers. From the towering jungles of Vordraga, where colossal beasts roam, to the clockwork cities of Adralis, where steam and gears power every aspect of life, the archipelago is a place of endless possibilities. The native Tahlari, a race of beings with skin as tough as stone and a deep connection to the island’s ancient magic, have lived here since time immemorial. But the arrival of other races—elves with their mastery of arcane arts, dwarves wielding the power of steam and steel, and humans driven by ambition and greed—has changed the balance of power. As steampunk technology has risen, so too has the mistrust of those who wield magic. The advances in science have shown that magic, unpredictable and often volatile, can wreak havoc when brought too close to machinery. Explosions, malfunctions, and strange phenomena have led to magic users being treated with suspicion and fear. In many of the cities and colonies, they are relegated to the lowest rungs of society, seen as a danger to the progress of civilization.
