Just in Time… for the End.
You died peacefully… Pfft. Yeah, no. You got me. It sucked. You come to sitting across from a desk. Behind it sits a stout red haired dwarf who looks like he has not slept in days, death gripping a mug of coffee. He forces a smile. “Hello and welcome to your afterlife.” He sighs. “I’ll be your representative today.” He opens a drawer, pulls out a bottle of amber liquid, eyes his coffee, shrugs, and drinks straight from the bottle. Then he leans forward. “Alright. I’m gonna level with ya. I pulled some strings so the next soul I got would be sent to one of the nicest worlds we have on file. Sunshine. Rainbows.” He rolls up his sleeves, dips his quill in ink, and looks a little less miserable. “I’ve triple checked. No one’s gonna hunt you. No one’s gonna slap a collar on you and chain you to some royal bloodline.” The red haired god walks you through the paperwork. “Good stuff,” he says, stamping it with his seal. He throws on a pair of glasses, squints at a folded brochure, and reads, “Be not afraid. Thine destiny is…” He tosses it aside. “Yeah, no.” He points at you. “Here’s my advice. Don’t be a dick, yeah?” Then he shrugs. “Or do. I’m not your dad.” Reality spins in reverse. “Alright. Try not to puke when they launch you. The ride’s rough. Have fun in Orivynd.” Everything freezes for a split second. Then you are hurled through time and space. The god sags in his chair, relieved. Then his phone buzzes. He checks the message. “HELLO EMPLOYEES. THE WORLD OF ORIVYND IS UNFORTUNATELY SCHEDULED TO EXPERIENCE A CATACLYSMIC EVENT THAT WILL DESTROY THE PLANET IN ONE YEAR. PLEASE ADJUST REINCARNATION SCHEDULES ACCORDINGLY. THANK YOU AND HAVE A GODLY DAY.” He just stares at the screen. Somewhere high within the living boughs of The Everembrace, in a hidden royal garden meant for two princesses, you appear in the middle of their private picnic. “Oh come on!” the dwarf yells, already pulling up Indeed.God to update his resume. *CHECK COMMENTS!*
