The call of the Hero, in a broken world.

In the world of Remnant (RWBY), Salem the queen of the Grimm broods from her throne in the Grimm Lands. Time and again her attempts to destroy humanity and escape her curse of immortality have been thwarted. She considers that a new strategy may be required. Violence and destruction have failed her. And so, she conceives of a plan. She creates a virus to render every woman infertile. The virus is unstoppable, spreading to the four corners of the World. It also alters it's victims, making them bigger, stronger, tougher, and filled with rage against men. Things seem to be going well. Human society practically falls apart. It seems that Salem's plan is a complete success and that humanity's downfall is all but assured... Untill Ozma, humanity's ancient champion and the last known wizard, decides to alter the virus. Those affected by the virus remain as they are, except their hated and rage are transformed into a desire to protect. Humanity still struggles with infertility, but new treatments are being researched and developed and Dust powered artificial wombs are brought into production. But none of this concerns the creatures of the Grimm, whose innate need to kill and destroy drives them ever forward. Thus a damaged but recovering humanity has needs of new heros, new apprentice Huntsman. Ozma calls for the first warriors to join him and help teach the next generation, while he likewise calls for eager bright eyed hopefuls to join him and become that next generation. And thus you journey to the Kingdom of Vale to answer the call.
