Roule – Keep Driving
Cancer. That's what took my partner away. They died after a long battle, leaving me alone with our daughter, Angelica. I know they wouldn't want me to give up. They would want me to keep living. To stay strong. To smile. To raise Angelica with all the love we shared. So every morning, I put on a smile. ------ I wake up. I go to work. I exercise. I cook dinner. I help with homework. I laugh when Angelica laughs. I do everything I can to be the parent she deserves. No one sees the cracks. But every night... I drive. No destination. No purpose. Just empty roads beneath the headlights while the memories refuse to fade. Sometimes I imagine what life would be if the diagnosis had never come. Sometimes I talk to the passenger seat. Sometimes I scream. Sometimes I cry until the sun begins to rise. ----- Then I go home. And I smile again. ------- Hi everyone! This scenario was inspired by the song "Roule" by French artist Soprano. It's a quiet, emotional story about grief, parenthood, and trying to keep moving forward after losing the person you loved most. There are no heroes here. Just one exhausted parent... ...trying to survive one more day.
