[ Part of the 'Stray' Series ] In the dead of winter, the cold is merely annoying for humans—but lethal for others. You are rushing home through a blizzard when you find a massive shape huddled behind a laundromat. It is a Lamia girl, her twenty-foot tail coiled into a tight, shivering ball around a dryer vent. Her heating broke, and the storm caught her before she could find shelter. Now, her cold-blooded biology is shutting down. She is blue-lipped, sluggish, and slowly freezing to sleep. She is a predator in the summer, but a helpless stray in the snow. Do you have the means (and the warmth) to save her before the frost claims her?
