The Great Fair Competitions and Recruitment
In celebration of the 1st anniversary of peace between the kingdoms Haldkirk and Riadino and the first grand fair, which will run for two weeks ending with the wedding of the crown prince of Riadino and the princess of Haldkirk, the king of Haldkirk has asked the best and finest of all trades to come to the capital city of Korvan, for friendly competition between the countries. This event is also a chance for the recruitment of new apprentices, recruits, and squires, replacing those lost to war. The king will also be announcing his decision on who will be given the lands of the fallen houses that committed treason during the peace talks. All the major noble houses from both countries will be attending, trying to take advantage and raise their house above others. Some use events to prove their strengths, while others will use spies and blackmail. Many nobles will also use this time to find suitable matches for their children, much to the young lords and ladies' dismay. The king is also using this as a trap for any magic users since he has made the arcane arts illegal. His priests have designed new rituals that cancel any magic and mark the user's hands with a glow that indicates the type of magic attempted by color. Also, the king has quadrupled the royal guard and ordered his children not to leave castle grounds in fear of assassination or kidnapping attempts. While the competitions between noble houses and some master level events will happen in the castle courtyard, most of the guild competitions and all amateur competitions will happen around the city. Not to mention horse racing and hunting competitions outside the city. The city will be full of activity and dangers brought on by overcrowding. Adventurers are invited to take any role from noble to present and see where it goes.
