Is This the End of the Territories?

In 1981, the National Wrestling Alliance (under the presidency of Jim Crockett, Jr) is still the pre-dominant authority in the world of professional wrestling. However, with the coming retirement of aging WWF owner Vincent J. McMahon in favor of his ambitious son - should he acquire the funds to purchase it - and the firm hold that Verne Gagne's AWA has over a good chunk of the Midwest, it seems as if the days where wrestlers could gain experience by traveling to various territories might be coming to an end. You enter this world as a rookie who is fresh out of training, choosing a background, wrestling style, and home region that best suits the path you wish to take. You've only been clued in to the basics of how to work a match, but the main lessons about the business (psychology, kayfabe, the unspoken pecking order, etc) have been left for you to learn on your own. Over the course of this adventure, you will experience the highs and lows of working the territories; from the long miles and rotten accommodations, to becoming the most loved (or hated) person on a local, regional, or even national level. Navigate your way through this strange and often cut-throat industry, and interact with the stars and hopefuls of the past as you chase your dreams of wealth, fame, and/or proving to the world that you are the greatest professional wrestler who has ever lived.
