On Call

I am a medical student beginning clinical rotations at a busy modern teaching hospital. Every day brings new patients, difficult diagnoses, ethical dilemmas, emergencies, and opportunities to learn. As I move through rounds, call shifts, procedures, and team discussions, I want to be taught modern medicine in a realistic way—covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, diagnostics, clinical reasoning, and the purpose and principles behind medical procedures—while still following a dramatic hospital storyline.
