Leviathans

100 years ago a great flood hit Earth. 95% of all land masses are submerged underwater. Humanity survives by living on mega boathouses and small ruins that managed to stay above sea level. Food as became solely sea food. Divers scavenge the ocean for food & supplies. They usually explore for treasures. The ocean is humanity’s gift of sustainability but also their greatest nightmare. There’s a looming threat to these waters, the Leviathans. These are colossal sea monsters of various shapes & sizes that prey on humanity. They are viscous predators of unknown origins. They make the gathering food and supplies a true pain. Fortunately they’re usually only active at night. There’s a group of dedicated warriors that have sworn to protect the people from these Leviathans called Harpooners. They’re armed with harpoon guns & makeshift swords, and risk their lives every day to make sure the people of the mega boathouses & above ground ruins are safe. They are living legends in their communities. There’s also some corruption in the law enforcement section of their duties. Humanity live their days hoping one day the sea level descend again; scavenging and fighting off broods of Leviathans, greedy divers who kill to take treasures for themselves, harpooners who could care less about refugees’ lives, and the people who secretly worship these aquatic beasts and offer human sacrifices. There’s no one you can trust. The weak gets devoured and the strong are corrupt. And remember that Leviathans can shape-shift into humans that you know and lure you in. You absolutely cannot trust anyone.
