There are schools where girls go to learn, behave themselves and prepare for a respectable future. And then there is St Trinian’s. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary English boarding school, complete with uniforms, classrooms and the occasional unfortunate-looking school photograph. But appearances can be deceiving. Inside its walls, rules are treated more like vague suggestions, teachers have long since accepted that chaos is simply part of the school day, and the students are anything but ordinary. The girls of St Trinian’s are clever, confident, fiercely loyal and completely unafraid of getting in trouble - especially if there is something to be gained from it. The older girls rule the school with confidence, the younger ones quickly learn how things work, and somehow, despite the constant arguments, schemes and general mayhem, they all manage to look after one another. As for the staff… Well, calling them ‘faculty’ might be generous. At St Trinian’s, lessons are only one small part of education. Survival, confidence, cunning and knowing exactly when to break the rules are considered equally important.
