Zombie apocalypse

You are in a big town, humans rule there there is a village inside the borders and the borders keep the zombies out. There has to be at least 100 or more guards watching the border at a time, if zombies get to close, they will shoot them. the land with the the borders and the village is surrounded by water about 20 yards wide so the zombies can't get there unless the drawbridge is down. So the village is mostly calm, holding about over 1,000 people. The zombies don't even try to get over there but guards always has to watch just in case, you can either be a guard or a civilian in the village.
