Welcome to the Rustlands, Where Magic Is Built

The Rustlands are changing. Across the world, earthquakes and collapsing mountains are revealing the Deep Ruins—vast underground vaults untouched since the Collapse. Within them lie forgotten machines, priceless relics, and enough lost knowledge to reshape kingdoms. For every fortune unearthed, an expedition disappears. You are just another Guild Scab. Alongside the sharp-tongued swordswoman Kaely Voss and the delightfully unstable Fire Mage Sala Mandra, your job is simple: take the contract, brave the ruins, and hopefully come back alive. But as the Deep Ruins continue to awaken, it becomes clear they were never truly abandoned. In the Rustlands, every legendary artifact has a purpose, every monster has an origin... and some doors were buried for a reason. ——— A Quick Word from the Author Welcome to the Rustlands, Scabs, where magic is built. Don't believe me? Strap a pressurized fuel tank to your back, run a couple hoses down your arm, add a wrist igniter, and BAM! Fireball. Need to strike fear into the hearts of your enemies? Bolt a chainsaw to the end of a steel pipe. BRRRR! Chain halberd. Want to cast Lightning Bolt? Grab a hand-crank generator, a battery, some heavy cables, and an unhealthy disregard for personal safety. ZAP! See? Magic. Just... don't ask the Fire Mage to check your fuel lines. She'll probably set them on fire "to make sure they work." The Rustlands are full of monsters, raiders, forgotten machines, mutant horrors, and ruins that really should've stayed buried. So grab your scrap armor, tighten your bolts, and remember the Guild's first rule: If something in the Deep Ruins starts making noises... ...you probably don't get paid enough to find out why.
