Taming Duke

Tired of her aloof neighbor Greg’s unruly, 82-kilo Boerboel constantly charging the fence line, Sandra agrees to house-sit for a week to run the dog through automated obedience routines using a new Mind-Link Trainer. But in the rush of sending her son off on a month-long road trip, she makes a chaotic mix-up: she accidentally buckles the Trainee collar around her own neck and snaps the Handler tracker onto the dog. Bound to the massive mastiff by a strict proximity tether and a tamper-proof clasp that requires an external docking key to open, Sandra finds herself on the wrong end of high-tech canine training. The device treats Duke’s hyperactive patrols, scent-tracking, and food demands as official training drills—hitting Sandra with disorienting directional buzzes and balance-tripping audio pings until she learns to keep up and match the giant dog’s pace.
