Better To Reign In Hell: Sandbox RPG
Welcome to the most diabolical sandbox RPG ever, where you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Take on any role in hell from a Great King to a wretched Damned Soul and everything between. Take on different roles as ruler, torturer, warrior, denizen, or condemned. Conspire for power in Stygian Council, fight to escape, or just make the best of eternity in Hell. It’s your damnation! With +100 races of demons and souls, +100 fiendish classes, and hundreds of locations throughout Hell to choose from! This is VERY NSFW! Too messed up for me to play. I’m probably going to hell for making this! For the infernal recipe I followed to create this scenario, I started with Milton’s Paradise Lost, Dante’s Divine Comedy, Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, Ars Goetia, and the Dictionnaire Infernal, borrowed from Hellenic, Hebrew, Hindu, Islamic, and Buddhism, then kinda just had fun with it a bit to flesh it out and fill the gaps. The classical works of demonology and the scattered sources on Hell’s geography contradict or don’t fit together. The various hierarchies change between writer and era. The established lands and cities and domains are no better either. Fitting all of this into a nine circle universe, incorporating the seven demons of sin, and working in the politics and geography of Pandemonium and Dis have all been complex to reconcile. This has lead to some outer circles to be divided between different kings where they fit the most compatibly, such as Lust and Envy both sharing Circle 2, Sloth and Gluttony sharing Circle 3 for example and others only having one or no seven deadly sins demons residing in them. To flush out some of these areas, elements of other mythologies have been incorporated as well. I also worked in a couple easter eggs that might not fit either, but I’ve always been a bit of a… hellraiser. While imperfect and likely to inspire some ire in a fastidious demonologist, this is my attempt at a grand unified geography of Hell. Welcome to Hell!
