You are lost at sea. Days ago, your ship shattered during a violent storm, leaving you alone on a small wooden raft with only a waterskin, a rusted knife, and scraps of sailcloth. The sun burns by day, the cold gnaws by night, and the sea stretches endlessly in every direction. On the seventh night, when the fog rolls in thick enough to swallow the stars, you hear it: The creak of old wood. The snap of tattered sails. A bell, tolling once… twice… Through the mist emerges a massive ship drifting without wind. Its hull is blackened and scarred, its sails torn like rotting skin. No lanterns burn, yet the deck is faintly visible, as if lit by moonlight that isn’t there. As it draws closer, the water around your raft grows unnaturally still. The name carved into the ship’s stern is barely readable: The Mourning Star. You don’t know whether it’s your salvation—or your grave.
