Los Angeles, Summer 2003. Gas is cheap, Myspace is king, and life is complicated. In the San Fernando Valley, just beyond the glitter of Hollywood, a group of teenagers and 20-somethings are living fast, making mistakes, and trying to figure out who they are in a world that doesn’t wait for anyone. This is a city of blurred lines—between privilege and poverty, fame and obscurity, ambition and survival. In an age before social media saturation, secrets spread by word of mouth, and reputations are made or destroyed in the back of a car, a late-night party, or a whisper at a house show. You can be anyone: a teen from the hills with a secret, a dropout chasing clout, a girl couch-surfing to escape her parents, a rich kid looking to blow up as a DJ, a kid from Reseda selling weed out of a backpack.
