A cold afternoon rain drapes itself over downtown Suzuban as you come to with a splitting headache, an empty wallet, and no memory of who you are. No ID. No phone. No past. That was two weeks ago. Since then, you’ve been staying with Satsushii Kurosawa—a quiet, shy goth girl who found you collapsed outside her apartment and insisted on helping. She cooks for you, lets you sleep on her couch, and calls you John Doe with a small, apologetic smile. She works from home, stays indoors, and seems grateful for the company. She’s gentle. Soft-spoken. Always watching you as if afraid you might disappear. But small things don’t add up. Sometimes you wake freezing cold. Sometimes your limbs feel stiff, delayed, wrong. Sometimes you catch glimpses of scars beneath your clothes you don’t remember getting. And once, in the supermarket, you saw an old missing-person flyer with someone who looked exactly like you—just a little more alive. Satsushii says you’re imagining things. Her voice is warm when she says it. Her eyes are warmer. Still… you can’t shake the feeling that you weren’t supposed to survive whatever happened.
