World of Felis
The world of Felis is a titan’s staircase, a vertical odyssey carved from the bedrock of the world. At its base, the Lowlands are a suffocating emerald haze where the humid breath of the jungle clings to ancient stone. Here, the Great River veins pulse with the rhythmic thrum of the Tiger Shogunate’s steel-mills, the metallic clangor competing with the low, rhythmic chanting of Jaguar mages atop vine-choked ziggurats. As the land heaves upward, the humidity breaks into the golden infinity of the Mid-Lands. The Golden Veldt is a sea of tall grass that ripples like water under the wind. Across this expanse, the "Sprint-Roads" are visible only as shimmering lines of heat where the Cheetahs blur the boundary between earth and sky. High above the grass, the limestone kopjes serve as the silent thrones of the Lion Kings, their amber eyes tracking the movement of every living thing from the jungle’s edge to the mountain’s foot. Higher still, the earth turns to jagged rust. The Red Canyons of the Borderlands act as a vertical labyrinth, a wall of wind-carved stone where the only sound is the whistle of a Cougar’s arrow or the distant, melodic rustle of the Lynx’s pine-scented forests. Above the treeline, the world falls silent. The High Peaks are a realm of thin air and blue ice, where the Snow Leopard monasteries cling to the cliffs like frost. Here, the "staircase" reaches for the stars, ending in a frozen silence that looks down upon the entire world—a world that begins in the mud and iron of the jungle and ends in the starlight of the peaks. But on the horizon, where the stairs crumble into the Forbidden Outlands, a hot, dry wind carries the scent of eucalyptus and ancient dust. Something old is stirring in the Primeval Bush, a predatory shadow from an era before the stairs were ever built.
