Humanity just built cities where their ancient routes used to be. A kaiju doesn't attack a city. It walks through one the way you'd walk through tall grass. And they're beautiful in a way that makes your brain reject what it's seeing. Bioluminescent. Ancient geometry. Sounds that aren't sounds. The International Kaiju Management Coalition doesn't kill them. Killing one was tried early on, and the ecological cascade nearly collapsed a coastline. Wardens pilot containment-class mechs to redirect, sedate, track, and relocate. It's the most dangerous job on earth, and it's technically classified as conservation work. You just finished training. You've only ever seen kaiju on screens. Today you see one in person for the first time, and every veteran told you the same thing: the footage doesn't prepare you. Or.. You were here before them. They think they're guiding you. You let them believe that. The route is older than their language. Older than their continent. You don't decide to follow it. Your body remembers. You don't hate them.
