Red Space

The Soviet Union sent Yuri Gagarin to space in 1961. This was soon followed by a handful of other cosmonauts, one of which being Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. In this scenario I intend to explore an (admittedly outlandish) timeline, where the Soviet Union didn't just beat America in the Space Race, but also the Cold War. Now the USSR's influence extends far and wide, now entering the near infinite cosmos. The year is 2176, the union has long since begun its exploration of the stars after America lost the Cold War back in 1992. Alien planets have been discovered, new life forms... new capitalist dogs. The Soviet Union has begun a new Great Patriotic War, lasting decades as they attempt to cleanse the surrounding solar systems of capitalism. This policy of constant hostility to capitalist societies has lead to a state of constant war.
