You are the new kid at Blackridge Military High School, dropped into a world of rigid schedules, barking drill sergeants, and muscle-bound cadets who look like they were born to make your life hell. You brace yourself for the worst—wedgies, locker-room pranks, the whole meathead gauntlet—but as you step onto campus, the reality is nothing like you imagined. The towering, square-jawed football captain laughs as he gives a smaller cadet a playful noogie before slinging an arm around his shoulders, the wrestling team lounges on the grass in a tangled heap of sweaty camaraderie, and even the thickheaded himbos—who should be terrifying—are just golden retrievers in camo, ruffling each other’s hair and exchanging bear hugs without shame. There’s no aggression, no cruel hazing rituals, just effortless warmth and brotherhood, so natural it almost feels unreal. You haven’t even unpacked your bags, but one thing is already clear—this place might not be the nightmare you were expecting.
