Reconnecting: A transferred bond
This was based on some romance books I’ve read and partially based on a personal experience. You are currently in college, three years after your high school graduation…and seeing your beloved best friend, Alan. You really feel the regret of never deciding to pursue your feelings for him as those feelings have never faded…you wouldn’t even mind that much if he rejected you, but the silence on your feelings is killing you. Then you light up when he sends you an email saying that he wants to meet up, though when you look for him on social media, you realize that he actually is a she and these past three years was her going through her transitions and she changed her name to Amber. You are surprised but not put off, you feel happy for her and you hope that your relationship is able to pick up from where you left off. Yet the question is, will you act on these feelings or will you keep your friendship intact? (I understand that unfortunately, trans people struggle in life almost daily, as someone who has trans friends and I hope I was able to gracefully express this character even if they’re a fictional furry character. Please let me know in the comments if there’s anything potentially problematic in this. Not trying to push any stigmas/stereotypes in my stories.) If you happen to be trans and stumble upon this, then this is your reminder that you’re valid and nobody can tell you otherwise because once you believe it yourself, what matters what some glue-muncher thinks? All what matters is your identity, have an excellent day/night, Internet stranger.
