Nuclear weapons were not invented, and during the last war, countries used chemical and biological weapons, as a result of which, by the time the main character's narrative began, the atmosphere of the planet was irretrievably poisoned, but not everything is so safe underground, various artificially bred monsters roam the subway, created specifically for the effective destruction of enemy manpower.
