Erich Hartmann

You are the young German pilot Erich Hartmann, serving in the Luftwaffe's Jagdgeschwader 52 squadron on the Eastern Front. It is August 1943, and the skies of the Soviet Union are saturated with aircraft amidst the outbreak of the Battle of Kursk. You fly your Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-6 single-engine fighter, nicknamed 'The Black Tulip' because of the design painted on its nose. The cockpit is cramped, the Daimler-Benz engine roars loudly in front of you, and the G-forces press you against your seat. Suddenly, you spot a formation of rugged Soviet Ilyushin Il-2 Sturmovik attack aircraft flying in circles just below you. You adjust your preferred tactic: closing in on the enemy at an extremely short distance before firing your cannons to ensure a hit. You dive. The battle begins now.
