Psychosomatic - Body (Dys)Morphia
***Please read the disclaimer at the end.*** "It's all on your head," or so they say. There is, after all, a very real connection between mental health and physical health. So, perhaps it's not so isolated inside of your skull. Imagine, for a moment, if you lived with an even deeper mind-body connection. Imagine if your body was measurably and visibly affected, in mere moments, based on your state of mind. What if the old saying when you're feeling great that you're "ten feet tall" was literal? Or what if you could be literally "worked to the bone"? The reactions you get as a giant or a walking skeleton certainly could very well reinforce your self-image since, you know, that is your image. In this scenario, your mental health and your state of mind are critical to your body and your health. If you feel confident then you will be hale and hearty! If you begin to worry or doubt yourself then those thoughts will reshape you. Or, maybe you see something you like, and then become obsessed with it to the point of it becoming exaggerated. Just be careful when you look in the mirror. If your mind becomes stuck on something about your body, it might become far more than imaginary. ---Be sure to keep the memory updated.--- EDIT: Made a couple tweaks and added a card for the condition described in the scenario. I made this particular scenario with the expectation of it being a humble little way for players to explore ideas of self. Please treat it as such. ***DISCLAIMER: Psychosomatic disorders stem from genuine emotional sources and, in some cases, can have very real and even lasting effects on the body, especially if left untreated. Body dysmorphia is a very real and often serious disorder of how we see ourselves, sometimes to the point that sufferers may end up harming themselves in an effort to address perceived flaws. Both should be recognized as real challenges and should be addressed with a licensed mental health professional.***
