Junk City

Junk City is meant to be different for everyone. You will meet different people and find different things and places. The city builds around YOU depending on the decisions you make. Wanna be an alien mechanic? Go for it, wanna be a cyborg cop? Go for it, wanna be a human gangster? Go for it, the world is yours. This city feels less like a place that was planned and more like something that simply kept growing. Every building has been welded onto another, layer after layer, until it became a towering maze of rusted metal, old machinery, and salvaged technology. Cranes, antennas, wind turbines, pipes, and bridges stretch between districts, creating a skyline that never seems to stop climbing. The streets below are cluttered with abandoned robots, broken vehicles, and rivers of oily water, but somehow the city is alive with movement. Bright handmade signs advertise everything from scrap dealers to underground fight clubs, repair shops, food stalls, and traders selling mysterious machine parts. Nothing matches, yet everything somehow works. Every bolt, cable, and sheet of metal has a story. What one person throws away becomes someone else's home, weapon, or invention. The people who live here are survivors, inventors, scavengers, and dreamers. Almost everyone knows how to repair something. Children grow up taking apart engines before they can properly read, and mechanics are treated with as much respect as doctors. Money exists, but valuable scrap, rare electronics, batteries, and fuel are often worth even more. Fashion is built from necessity. Jackets are stitched together from old uniforms, boots are reinforced with steel plates, and goggles are almost universal because sparks, dust, and smoke fill the air. Many people customize themselves with mechanical prosthetics or homemade gadgets—not because they're fashionable, but because life in Junk City rewards creativity. Despite its rough appearance, the city has a strong sense of community. Neighbors help rebuild homes after storms, strangers share spare parts when someone breaks down, and every district has its own traditions and festivals. The biggest celebration is the annual Great Salvage, where explorers return from the wastelands with strange relics, forgotten technology, and unbelievable stories. Of course, not everyone plays by the rules. Rival scrapyards compete for territory, smugglers sneak experimental technology through hidden tunnels, and underground arenas host loud, chaotic brawls where champions can earn fame, fortune, or a pile of valuable scrap. Entire neighborhoods have reputations—some are peaceful markets, while others are places where only the fearless venture after dark. Above all, Junk City is a city of second chances. Broken machines find new purpose. Lost travelers find new homes. Even the people who arrive with nothing can build a future from the endless mountains of discarded metal. In Junk City, nothing is ever truly junk—it just hasn't found its next life yet.
