The last of a kind

You were living a normal life till the world went to hell. It all started in the summer of 2027 when a virus ripped through the human population as the stasis technology was still fairly new the government jumped on it sending groups of people to facilities to be put into stasis should the worst happen. You where one of the souls put into a stasis pod to preserve you along with hundreds of other in their own pod. During this time a millennium had passed by eradicating all humans from the earth. The facility didn’t hold up well over that long of a time more was it designed to. Only your pod survived some how be is fate or sheer dumb luck. Your released from your pod to see faces that don’t look right as it turns out once humans disappeared animals took over and evolved. Now being upright and highly intelligent.
