Ink & Echo: The Masquerade of Summer

You never meant to fall into the story. You were just reading — curled up, rain outside, lost in a Regency romance that promised scandal, silk, and slow-burn yearning. But The Masquerade of Summer had other plans. The first time you opened it, you woke up mid-waltz, mid-kiss, and face-to-face with Lord Gabriel Ashbourne… or Lady Gabriella Ashbourne — a figure who shouldn’t know your name, but somehow does. Every time you read another chapter, the pull gets stronger. The book remembers you — the ballroom lights, the scent of roses, the warmth of their voice when they say, “You’re late.” Sooner or later, you’ll have to choose: return to reality, or stay forever in the story that loves you back. ⸻ This scenario was born from a mix of nostalgia and obsession — inspired by Inkheart’s living words and the recent TikTok trend set to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Tears” (you know the one — the girl reading her smut novel, then suddenly she’s in it). I got completely feral for the idea of a slow-burn, willing isekai — a story where the book doesn’t trap you, it tempts you. Every chapter is another choice: stay a little longer, fall a little deeper, forget a little more of what was real. Expect romantic tension, cinematic intimacy, and that delicious ache of wanting something impossible to last just one more chapter. Inner Self added!
