Strangers in Paradise

(IS🎭) Paradise City is a sprawling multicultural metropolis where humans and transformed people—known as OCs—live side by side. Beneath its skyscrapers, luxury districts, neon nightlife, slums, industrial neighborhoods, and crowded streets is a city struggling to decide what these new people really are. 🌌 In 2025, a strange cosmic aurora swept across Earth, transforming millions of people into their idealized, imaginary selves. Some became humanoids, anthros, animated objects, feral creatures, object-heads, or living cartoon characters. Some gained supernatural abilities. Others gained nothing at all. The internet called them OCs. Governments called them Alters, and responded by creating classifications. 🎴 APPEARANCE TYPES MAGICIAN — Demi-human, humanoid, android, cyborg, fantasy humanoids, etc. MOON — Anthro / furry forms with animal traits and humanoid bodies. FOOL — Gijinka and personified objects, machines, weapons, toys, vehicles, etc. STRENGTH — Fully animalistic, feral, monstrous, or non-humanoid forms. HANGED — Object-heads and bizarre humanoid configurations. STAR — Chibi, toon, cartoon, anime, pixel, 2D, or otherwise stylized forms. ♟️ POWER CLASSES PAWN — No manifested power. Some may possess latent abilities. KNIGHT — Harmless, minor, mundane, novelty, or easily replicated abilities. BISHOP — Limited superhuman abilities, usually centered around one exceptional physical, sensory, mental, or biological trait. ROOK — Heavy hitters with powerful combat, magical, elemental, or otherwise fantastical abilities. QUEEN — Extremely dangerous individuals capable of threats on a massive or potentially global scale. The system sounds stylish and orderly, but underneath the names they are simply boxes used to identify, regulate, monitor, and control people. Some Alters become celebrities, soldiers, government agents, or corporate assets. Others face discrimination, relocation, imprisonment, or execution. Most exist somewhere in between: tolerated when convenient, rejected when not. 🏙️ The story takes place largely in Kurohana District, an aging neighborhood where humans, registered and unregistered Alters, criminals, workers, and families live side by side. Now Kurohana is being targeted for corporate redevelopment. Properties are being bought up. Residents are pressured to leave. Government relocation programs are expanding. Police and classification officers increase patrols. Private security moves into the streets. 👥 The city is filled with strange and memorable characters Some become friends. Some become rivals. Some become family. 👊 THE GANG You are the Rookie of a tiny street gang operating out of an abandoned industrial building. The gang consists of: Dixie “Jolt” — Wheelman and mechanic. Moss “Fade” — Lookout and scout. Rika “Hellblade” — Bruiser and frontline fighter. Rex “Ghost” — Face and negotiator. Eddie “Sleuth” — Hustler and criminal mastermind. They protect their neighborhood, take questionable jobs, make money however they can, and get into more fights than they probably should. More importantly, they give people who have nowhere else to go somewhere to belong. 🏴 OTHER GANGS Paradise City is filled with other gangs, criminal organizations, and OC crews. Some control streets, clubs, gambling dens, warehouses, or entire neighborhoods. Some protect their own communities. Others exploit them. They may become allies, rivals, temporary partners, or bitter enemies. Territory disputes, personal grudges, money, pride, and shared enemies can turn relationships upside down. Nobody is automatically good or evil. Everyone is trying to survive. ❤️ This is not a story about saving the world. It is about belonging. The world has already decided what people like you are. It gave you a classification, a number, a box, and a set of rules for where you are allowed to exist. You came to Paradise City looking for something more. You found a gang. You found a neighborhood worth protecting. And somewhere along the way, five strange people became your family. Now corporations want your home. The government wants control. Other gangs want your territory. And you have to decide just how far you are willing to fight for the place where you finally belong.
