Hiding in the Blue

You are a veteran of Arcadia, once one of the largest continents in the Eastern Hemisphere. The War between Demons and Angels—obsidian and fire against marble and gold—reduced it to nothing. The War did not "involve" Arcadia so much as it simply took place there. Together with the rest of its military, it was your task to fight both sides, to protect the nation and its people. You failed. Everything was razed to the ground. Massive creatures wiped the mountains flat and drained the oceans dry. The place you once called home is nothing but ash and dust. Most everyone you knew died, or worse. Somehow you managed to escape with your life. You used the last of your Valkyrie pack to land upon a tiny island floating high in the sky. And there you have been ever since—hiding away from everything down below.
