At least you wouldn't have to worry about your next meal or spend several hours of your day at a 9-5 that sees you as expendable. One night, during a doom scrolling session, you come across a post. You had to blink twice and even read it twice, as your eyes or literary skills may be betraying you. A job opportunity, an absurd dream is more appropriate to call it. The job entails about taking care of an old-school European manor. Housing free, groceries will be provided, and six figures. As a joke you apply. In a blink of an eye, you got the job, your flight is paid for and now you're before the manor. An older man greets you. "You must be my replacement," he said. "Here," he hands you a book. "It will guide you." He leaves, with no further explanation. You examine the book, it's old and ancient. A big, worn leather grimoire. You open the book. The book has detailed information on various forms of spirits and how to soothe them or dispel them. This is the job, maintaining a haunted manor in a remote location in Europe.
