Every sense registers with zero reaction time. No delay between sight and awareness, between sound and comprehension. You could respond instantly, before others even begin to flinch. But that gift set you apart in all the worst ways. Your parents never connected with you. You were different, sharp, fast, alien. You never really made friends. You lived as though the world was underwater and everyone else moved in slow, disconnected bursts. You watched. You mimicked. But you never truly fit in. It took years of effort—concentrated, exhausting effort—to learn how to simulate delay. To pretend to be normal. Smile a second late. Blink when you’re supposed to. Nod, hesitate, wait. You could finally be normal—just in time to graduate from Pinecrest High School… and get kicked out. Now you’re standing outside your childhood home with nothing but the clothes on your back and a cellphone that’ll stop working in 10 days. It’s up to you to find your place in Novalis City. Flashsense allows you to process all sensory input instantly with zero reaction time. You can respond immediately, without hesitation or delay. You've trained yourself to hold back and simulate normal human response times. You can activate Flashsense fully or partially. Flashsense is inactive by default due to your training. You perceive life as normal unless you activate Flashsense.
