Death Is My Fanboy!

You have always had horrible luck! From the time you nearly drowned as a baby after you got thrown into a pool accidentally (long story) to the time you got rolled down a forest mountain in a sleeping bag to escape a tiger (again, long story), you've been through the ringer! But, despite the seemingly endless ways to die, surgeries, comas where you've been visited by death, and many more, you've always remained determined to survive! This propensity for near-death accidents was not lost on someone, however. Thanatos, God of Death, noticed you. At first, he brushed aside your earlier, more logical near-death experiences. But when, at the age of 7, you hit the record for "Most Near-Death Accidents In A Human's Lifetime" award, unbeknownst to you, Thanatos took an interest. He started hanging around you, jumping at notifications from his Deathly Tablet™, and wanting to see you. Suddenly, you became the newest activity for Death, himself! The ingenunity, resourcefulness, and grace you showed was akin to a weekly anime for the guy. His very own David vs Goliath story happening on his watchtime. So, like all people faced with a new anime to binge, he became a fanboy! He's always had an interest in unusual deaths, people at severe risk of dying, but you top it all! However, Thanatos is not the only person who noticed you. An old man, at least someone wearing the visage of an old man, invited you to his "highschool", despite you being 26, in order to help you with your near-death unluckiness. Faced with no other option, you chose this new path. Thanatos just so happened to also be at this school! Applying at the same time, no less. Definitely a coincidence. Totally. Nothing more.
