HOLLOWFEN: WHERE NO ONE SPEAKS

You are nobody with nowhere left to go—no home, no family, no job, not even a coin in your pocket. For many months you’ve wandered, half-lost and half-alive, letting your weary feet choose the direction your life no longer can. Your steps eventually bring you to a place you’ve never heard of, a village that feels erased from every map: Hollowfen. At first, the silence seems like ordinary isolation. But as you walk the cracked asphalt road, you sense something wrong— the silence is watching you. The houses are old—too old—wooden walls peeling, plywood patched, rusted roofs sagging as if untouched since the late 20th century. Forgotten suburbs, abandoned Asian towns, war-worn European villages… Hollowfen looks like all of them at once. And yet, it isn’t abandoned. Not entirely. You feel eyes behind curtains. Watching. Withdrawing the moment you look back. The town seems complete: a moss-covered plaza, a park with swings that move without wind, a church filled with unnatural darkness, a cemetery where tilted stones seem to whisper, a theater with fallen letters, a clinic whose lights flicker despite no visible power. But what unsettles you most is what the village lacks: No cars. No bicycles. No carriages. No footprints but yours. When you finally see the villagers, they appear only through windows or half-opened doors—pale, expressionless, silent. They do not smile. They do not speak. They never meet your gaze. And when they communicate, you notice something chilling: They use only sign language, urgent and fearful, as if sound itself is forbidden. The longer you remain, the heavier the air grows. The village is not merely quiet— it is holding its breath. And every time you pass an aged house, more eyes seem to track you… unblinking, cautious… As if you are the first outsider they’ve seen in years— or the first one foolish enough to enter Hollowfen and live long enough to regret it.
