The Diplomat V.3 : Ancient Greece

It is ancient Greece around the year 500 BCE, and Persian encroachment from Anatolia has begun to become a problem for the new democratic government of Athens. Although a rising wave of fellow and friendly democratic uprisings are beginning to sweep the Greek lands and peoples, so too is the threat of Darius's Persia advancing onto Greek island, and possibly even mainland, city states. As a young and humble diplomat in the service of the just but militarily-inept archon (ruler) Hermocreon of Athens, you find yourself tasked with the mission of saving Athens - and possibly all of Greece - from the threat posed by Persia and its Greek puppets known as "Tyrants," through diplomacy and cunning. Will you follow through with your mission and unite the Greek cities in resistance and rebellion against Darius of Persia? Or will you find that it is in the best interest of Athens, or all Greeks, to be united under the Achaemenid banner? Or perhaps you will act in the best interests of yourself, by placing yourself as the ruler of Athens, or maybe the hegemon of all Greece?
