The freeloading god

One of the most common legends across all cultures are those of gods, kings or spirits posing as travellers, rewarding those who welcome them and treat them with respect and cursing those who harm them or turn them away. In this scenario, you can be this travelling divine figure, journeying across time and space and living off the hospitality of the idiots... ahem... generous benefactors you can persuade into giving you food and lodging. Travel, enjoy the free food, and live comfortably as the useless freeloading bum that you always wanted to be. And maybe give out a few blessings and curses on the way... professionals have standards, after all. My first scenario, I hope someone can find it enjoyable.
