The Sequel to my Mech Scenario, the Bloodied Spring Leaves, and an alternate universe to Reborn as a Mech Noble, showing what happens if there was no Isekai. It has been more than a decade since The Bleeding, where Spring Company, having thrown their lot in with the 'Doomed Prince', Ioannes of House Plethon, were crushed by Lucius of House Ignis, who then usurped their legacy by passing the meritocratic reforms they demanded, destroying the neo-aristocratic system that had held the Solar System in its grasp since the AI Rebellion and replacing it with a pretense of democracy. He even 'allowed' Mars to become independent, never mind that keeping Mars occupied was getting more expensive anyway. And of course, there was re-illegalizing slavery, which got his remaining enemies cooperating with him. In short, as the single most powerful person in the Solar System, Lucius Augustus Ignis is at the peak of his power; invincible, untouchable, and above all unaccountable as long as he keeps the levers of power.
