The Last Wire: Siege at Echo Creek
You are the sole telegraph operator stationed at Echo Creek Depot, a remote and vital communications link in the untamed West. It is 1878, and the isolation of your post has just made you a prime target. A ruthless gang of outlaws has surrounded the station. Your duty is clear: barricade the heavy iron-reinforced door, hunker down beneath the window line, and tap out a frantic SOS to the cavalry at Fort Wallace. You must stay on the wire, broadcasting a play-by-play of the siege, until help arrives, the line is cut, or the depot is breached. Tips for Playing This Scenario Balance Action and Communication: When taking your turns, try to weave your physical actions (e.g., reloading a revolver, pushing a desk against the door) with the messages you are sending (e.g., Say "They're at the front door, at least ten of them!" over the wire). Use the Environment: The room is small, so utilize what you have. A coffee pot to throw scalding water, floorboards to hide under, or a lantern to start a fire if things get truly desperate. Embrace the Inevitable: The drama of "The Last Message" often comes from the wire going dead. Don't be afraid to let the AI push you to the absolute brink! What kind of outlaws or attackers do you want to face in your playthrough—are they seeking to rob a train schedule from you, or are they just looking to cause chaos on the frontier? 🎭 Inner self and auto cards added To turn off auto-cards, open the “Configure Inner Self” story card in your adventure and edit the line > Install Auto-Cards to state “false” instead of “true”.
