Chosen By The Light

You've always considered religion a waste of time, but you never expected the gods to take that personally. During the Church's grand ceremony, divine light singles you out as the husband of Adriana Heiliger, the beloved Saintess herself. She's beautiful, kind, devout, and has spent her entire life preparing to marry an extraordinary man. Unfortunately for her, you're an ordinary soldier who'd rather be anywhere else. Now you're expected to marry the Church's perfect daughter and spend the rest of your life beside her. Adriana is horrified, the Archbishop is having a crisis of faith in everything except the gods' authority, her friends are struggling to process the situation, and her attendant looks ready to execute you on principle. Jokes on you, Gods really do exist.
